How far should a thermostat be from a wall heater?
The thermostat should be positioned at a height of about 52-60 inches. Since heat rises, if the thermostat is higher than that, the readings will tend to be too warm.
Does nest work with wall heaters?
Technically it is possible to use a smart thermostat such as the Nest with electric baseboard or wall heaters, but we no longer recommend it.
How does a wall heater thermostat work?
Mechanical thermostats regulate heat thanks to the expansion of their internal metallic strips. This strip carries electricity through the connected circuit, switching on the heating. As the strip heats up, one of the metals expands enough to open the circuit and switch off the heating, cooling the room down.
Does Mr Heater have a thermostat?
Mr. Heater Thermostat is compatible with the Big Maxx series of Unit Heaters, Garage heaters and the MHT45 Tube heaters.
Should thermostat be in coldest room?
We would not advise putting the thermostat in the coldest room as this would not be a true reflection of the temperature of the rest of the house. If the thermostat senses cold, it will think that your entire home is just as cold. So it will tell your boiler to work harder which could increase your heating costs.
Where should a thermostat be placed in a house?
Ideal Thermostat Placement
The best place for your thermostat is on an interior wall, away from all the areas we previously discussed (direct sunlight, air vents, your kitchen, hallways, windows and doors). Ideally, it should be placed toward the center of your home.
Is Nest compatible with my thermostat?
Google Nest thermostats are designed to work with most 24 V systems, even older systems. They work with all common fuel types including natural gas, oil, and electricity.
Can I use a Nest thermostat with only 2 wires?
The Nest Thermostat is compatible with 2 wire low voltage HVAC systems that are either heat only systems or cooling only systems.
Can you use a Nest thermostat with electric heat?
Unfortunately, No. The reality is: Virtually all smart thermostat manufacturers advise against installing Nest and Ecobee thermostats with electric baseboard heating. Why? Simply put, they are not compatible.
Are wall heaters dangerous?
In addition to being a fire hazard, they are also a burn or shock hazard, especially for pets and children. On the other hand, Runtal wall-mounted electric heaters reach temperatures up to 145 degrees Fahrenheit yet they have high heat output.
Why is thermostat not working?
Look for and address simple reasons why the thermostat isn’t getting power, such as dead batteries or a tripped breaker or blown fuse in your main electrical service panel. If you’re certain it’s receiving power, shut off the thermostat breaker in order to safely take off the cover and examine the inner components.
Is the temperature sensor in the thermostat?
A well placed temperature sensor (which might be built in to the thermostat itself, or might be a small “remote” sensor that is wired back to the thermostat) reports the temperature your guests and staff experience and allows your Heating and Cooling system to deliver the cooling or heating necessary to keep everyone
